Conscious Living

Are you living on autopilot?

As we begin to live more consciously, we let every action be a choice.

Instead of running our lives around unconscious decision-making programs, we become more vigilant.

We begin to notice there are always a number of different choices available to us each moment and that we have the power to respond to a given set of circumstances from a place of consciousness and intentionality.

We can choose to stop our auto-piloting programming by responding to triggers rather than merely reacting to them.

For example, next time you run into anger, stop for a second. Breathe. Take a moment to sit with your emotional self. Identify what you are feeling by naming the emotion. Shake your body if you feel you need to let some steam out. Then notice what kind of options are available to you in that moment.

Do you have to respond to this trigger immediately or can you let it go? If you feel you need to respond, what would the best possible course of action be?

Perhaps also ask yourself this: how can I respond to this in a way that is most aligned to my values and higher self?
